thankfully, this tribe's existence reminded me how much i like the words of tom robbins bouncing around my head.
does anybody else feel the need to refresh their internal fierce invalid when it fades from memory? i feel it right now. maybe jitterbug perfume is what the doctor would order? all i know is i find my intellectual compass is revitalized when i read his work.

Re: anybody else?
Thu, July 17, 2008 - 11:01 PMOver the course of 20 years or so I've read Jitterbug Perfume 3 times. Am currently re-reading Skinny Legs and All. Jitterbug Perfume is the best novel I have ever read. -

Re: anybody else?
Sat, August 9, 2008 - 10:38 PMYes, I have read and re-read it a number of times too. The most fun time was when I was reading a chapter a day with a friend. I had already read it twice by then, but it was his first time. We would call eachother at night and talk about each chapter after we read it, so I got to relive it through another person. -

Re: anybody else?
Sat, August 9, 2008 - 10:58 PMOh wow, I'm SO doing that the next time I give someone that book - that's utterly cool!
Jitterbug Perfume is my favorite book ever, too. I'm on my eighth or ninth copy now because I keep giving it away, but I always have a copy on my bookshelf. It's my literary comfort food.
